Entry level certificate in adult numeracy

From September 2002 the only adult numeracy qualifications eligible for LSC funding will be those which are based on the national standards for adult numeracy and which have been accredited into the National Qualifications Framework by QCA. The national standards for adult numeracy cover the skills of interpreting, calculating and communicating mathematical information and are set at Entry level and levels 1 and 2 of the NQF and these standards also form the basis of the Adult Numeracy Core Curriculum.

In order to recognise the achievements of learners at Entry level, this level is divided into three stages: Entry 1, Entry 2 and Entry 3. Because of this, the Entry level certificate in adult numeracy records achievement at the stage of entry level reached.

To enable these new qualifications to be evaluated, initial accreditation is until August 2004. This table allows you to compare details of arrangements offered by the awarding bodies accredited by QCA to offer the Entry level certificate in adult numeracy:
