Adult Learners' Week 2006

20 - 26 May 2006
Adult Learners’ Week is the UK’s largest celebration of learning. It promotes education and training for adults, provides access to information and guidance, motivates more and different adults to participate in learning and celebrates the learning achievements of adults. Started in 1992 it is a collaborative venture between education and training providers, broadcasters and national and local government. Co-ordinated by NIACE, the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education, the Week is supported by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and the European Social Fund, with additional support from learndirect and Ofcom.
Adult Learners' Week is an excellent opportunity to promote Skills for Life and recruit new learners. The Skills for Life Strategy Unit in DfES supports NIACE in ensuring that messages and information around Skills for Life are prominent throughout Adult Learners' Week.
