Learning at Work Day: Thursday 22 May
National Learning at Work Day, the biggest annual celebration of workplace learning, will take place on Thursday 22 May 2008. It is run by the Campaign for Learning as part of Adult Learners Week (17 – 23 May).
This year's theme is ‘Sustainable Workplaces’ with three areas that Learning at Work Day organisers can use when organising an event, these are:
-
Environment – which focuses on our surroundings in terms of carbon footprint, health & safety, community, global sustainability and growth.
-
Work/life balance – which focuses on maintaining the wellbeing of individuals in terms of health, flexible working, timekeeping, stress, working from home.
-
Learning through life – which focuses on skills requirements of organisations and the need for continual learning such as Skills for Life needs (numeracy and literacy), soft skills, learning influencers (peer, line manager, ULRs, coaching, mentoring).
