Campaign for Learning (CfL): CfL is a national charity. It was created to champion the causes of life long learning and runs events and campaigns such as Family Learning Week and Learning at Work Day. Take a look at the site to find out more. http://www.campaign-for-learning.org.uk/

Learning and Skills Council (LSC): The LSC is responsible for funding and planning education and training for over 16-year-olds in England. http://www.lsc.gov.uk/

The Learning and Skills Network: LSN is an independent not-for-profit organisation committed to making a difference to education and training. http://www.lsneducation.org.uk

National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE): NIACE has a particular concern for widening access to learning opportunities and increasing participation among those groups currently under represented in education and training. It works in all fields of UK education and training and runs campaigns such as Adult Learners' Week. http://www.niace.org.uk/

National Literacy Trust (NLT): NLT is an independent charity dedicated to building a literate nation. This website tells you more. http://www.literacytrust.org.uk They are also involved in promoting the National Year of Reading 2008.

The Reading Agency: The Reading Agency is an independent charity which inspires more people to read more. http://www.readingagency.org.uk/

Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA): QCA works with others to maintain and develop the school curriculum and associated assessments, and to accredit and monitor qualifications in schools, colleges and at work. http://www.qca.org.uk

Quality Improvement Agency for Lifelong Learning: The Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) has been set up to spark fresh enthusiasm for innovation and excellence in the learning and skills sector http://www.qia.org.uk

UfI / learndirect: Ufi, the organisation behind learndirect, has a mission to use technology to transform the skills and employability of the working population, in order to improve the UK’s productivity. http://www.ufi.com
