Learning at Work Day 2007

National Learning at Work Day is an annual awareness campaign which promotes and supports workplace learning events across England.
The Campaign for Learning started organising LAW Day in 1999 as part of Adult Learners' Week to draw attention to the importance of workplace learning and skills. Each year, thousands of organisations take part in LAW Day and stage fun and business-related learning activities to help their staff learn new skills that they can put into action at work. The Skills for Life Strategy Unit in the DfES works with the Campaign for Learning to promote Skills for Life learning as part of Learning at Work Day.
Each organisation shapes LAW Day to the needs of its workforce. It can be used to:
Highlight an organisation's commitment to workplace learning
Celebrate the learning achievements of employees during the year
Offer a day of learning to increase motivation and develop generic employability skills
Promote existing training opportunities in the workplace, or launch new initiatives
Identify learning and training needs of employees and the organisation
Signpost employees to further learning opportunities
